Which Chengdu high-speed rail station do you need?

Chengdu East is the city’s main high-speed rail hub, but some trains use Chengdu South or another station. Always match the complete station name on the ticket before choosing a hotel transfer or metro route.

  • Train number and station can change the best cross-city transfer plan.

A practical Chengdu high-speed rail departure plan

Chengdu East is a major high-speed hub, but the station on your ticket controls the correct transfer. Confirm it before choosing a metro route or hotel pickup.

1. Confirm Chengdu East, South or another station

Chengdu East and Chengdu South are different stations, and a train may use another Chengdu-area station. Match the complete Chinese and English station name on the Railway 12306 booking.

  • Keep the train number, departure date and station screenshot available offline.
  • Do not use “Chengdu train station” as a substitute for the ticketed station name.

2. Prepare for entry and boarding

Reach the correct station entrance, complete passport and security checks, then follow the electronic departure display to the waiting area. Queue length and gate instructions can change during holidays or busy departures.

  • Carry the passport used for the booking and keep the train details ready for staff.
  • Use Railway 12306 for current ticket, platform and service information rather than an old timetable.

3. Choose the arrival transfer after confirming the station

Once the station is confirmed, open the Chengdu metro guide or a licensed taxi route from that station. The best transfer depends on your actual hotel, luggage and arrival time, not on the city name alone.

  • Save the hotel address in Chinese and the station exit before boarding.
  • Keep a road-transfer backup if the final metro connection is no longer practical.
